The Michelin Man Is Coming for Wine
Michelin is rolling out a new “Grapes” rating system to evaluate wineries worldwide, with the first distinctions for Bordeaux and Burgundy set for 2026. A dedicated team will score estates on criteria like vineyard quality and consistency across vintages, aiming to create a new global benchmark.

One of the West Village’s most universally loved restaurants is hosting its annual Carols at King this Sunday, December 14. Expect mulled wine, candlelight and Christmas carolers, with lunch, caroling or dinner to choose from. A holiday tradition you won’t want to miss.
SWURL x SuperVinoBros x Win Son x Discovery Wines Holiday Party
Our monthly Win Son Wine Bar night continues, and this month we’re turning it into a holiday party on Thursday, December 18, at Win Son in the East Village. Expect an exciting bottle list (wine nerds, you’ll be very happy) and some very fun by-the-glass magnum pulls from the Discovery Wines cellar.

The wine-focused book we’re loving: A journalist’s adventure from cellar rat to sommelier. It was one of the first wine books we read years ago, the one that kicked off our interest in wine and, eventually, led to starting Swurl.
Wine recommendation of the week: A new producer that just landed in NYC, making an incredible sparkling wine from Lombardia. It’s on the pricier end but we had it with the Big Tray Chicken at Spicy Village this week. Highly recommend. Would do it again.
